Meet the Crew | Sophie Radcliffe

We like to think of our 1,400+ crew as one big family.  Each member is unique, and their skills, experience, backgrounds, cultures, nationalities, and personalities contribute to the rich social fabric of our company.  In our ‘Meet Our Crew’ profile series, we’re introducing you to a diverse bunch of Kinetic IT employees, exploring the different roles they fill across the company and how they make a difference to our team, our customers, our industry and our community. In this edition, we chat with Sophie Radcliffe.

Meet Sophie Radcliffe

Sophie Radcliffe is one of our bright and talented Sourcing and Mobilisation Specialists.  Having spent just under a decade working at Kinetic IT, she’s a guru when it comes to matching talented people with Kinetic IT career opportunities.

Sophie Radliffe - "I'm passionate about building strong relationships in the business and providing a structured and positive recruitment experience."

1. What is your role?

I work in our Organisational Capability department within the Sourcing & Mobilisation team as a Sourcing & Mobilisation Specialist.

2. How long have you been a crew member with Kinetic IT?

8.5 glorious years.

3. Where were you before Kinetic IT?

Prior to Kinetic IT, I worked in the UK for Adecco as an IT Resourcer for Lloyds Bank and Aviva. When I moved to Perth, I took a role at Hays IT on the Apps Dev contractor desk before joining Kinetic IT as a Recruitment Advisor.

4. What do you love most about your role?

I truly love the craft of recruitment. I have lived and breathed the word of sourcing and mobilisation for over 11 years. I’m passionate about building strong relationships in the business and providing a structured and positive recruitment experience.

I’m also currently working with a mentor to ensure I have a clear focus on my career and to prepare me for when I return from maternity leave next year. I’m finding this highly beneficial, as it’s really putting my mind at ease regarding leaving my role for 9-12 months.

5. What’s something people might not know about you?

My passion outside of work is music. I was raised in a musical family; my Mum is an opera singer and I grew up learning to play the violin and flute.  My partner produces music and plays the guitar. Unfortunately, I didn’t inherit my mum’s amazing vocal cords and sound like a nervous goat when I sing, so I stick to attending live gigs and music events.

6. What do you love most about Kinetic IT?

Sourcing or headhunting candidates is something I do every single day. Selling not only the role but also Kinetic IT – you can’t do that for 8.5 years if you don’t believe in the company you work for. I still have an insane amount of passion and dedication for the work we do here, and I truly believe it’s an awesome company to work for.

7. Have you ever been to a BSides Event?

No, I haven’t, I’m excited to attend as I’ve heard so much amount it!

8. What are you most looking forward to for this year’s event?

I can’t wait to network, meet local industry professionals and newbies, and find out what’s going on in the world of cyber security.
