Kinetic IT has been shortlisted for Best Veteran Support Program 2026, in recognition of its structured, people-led support for veterans, reservists, and first responders across Australia. This follows Kinetic IT’s recognition as a Veteran Friendly Employer by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and Silver Membership with the ADF Reserves Employer Support Program.

Kinetic IT has been named a finalist in the Best Veteran Support Program category at the 2026 Defence & National Security Workforce Awards.

Delivered by Defence Connect, the awards celebrate organisations strengthening Australia’s Defence and national security workforce.

As an Australian-owned and operated provider, Kinetic IT works closely with Defence and employs more than 50 veterans. While supporting customers across Defence and emergency services, Kinetic IT has embedded veteran and reservist support into its policy, leadership and day-to-day work.

Lisa Keogh, Chief People Officer, said recognition for Best Veteran Support Program reflects the people-led effort behind the company’s approach.

“Transitioning from military or emergency service into civilian roles can come with challenges that aren’t always visible. That’s why we have taken a structured and people-led approach to support our crew,” Ms Keogh said. “We’re delighted that this grassroots way of fostering inclusion has been recognised at the Defence and National Security Workforce Awards.

“This one is for our crew. They are the heartbeat of Kinetic IT and are helping us provide a workplace that is inclusive and accessible. A huge congratulations to members of the Veterans & First Responders Working Group and our Community Engagement team on this recognition.”

Established in 2024, Kinetic IT’s Veterans & First Responders Working Group brings together veterans, reservists, emergency services personnel, family members and allies. Members share their lived experience to help guide Kinetic IT’s veteran support initiatives, leading to practical outcomes such as flexible working arrangements, reservist support and leadership capability uplift.

Partnerships with organisations including Working Spirit and Soldier On also help ensure that policies and programs stay aligned with the broader veteran community.

“Finding a civilian employer who supports Reserve Service is incredibly important for ADF members,” said Leighton Freene, Managing Director for Federal Government, Defence and National Security.

“Our policies, actions, and partnerships reflect our deep respect for the service and contribution of our reservists.”

In the last 12 months, Kinetic IT has participated in career exhibitions at Irwin Barracks, presented cyber security pathways to Women in Defence Industry Scholarship recipients, and hosted its inaugural Veteran and Defence Community Networking event.

Internally, the From Boots to Business initiative has created a safe space for crew to share personal stories connected to military and emergency service — building greater understanding and psychological safety across teams.
