Australia’s essential services seeking secure and modern business solutions have two new Certified Technical Architects (CTAs) to call on – Kinetic IT’s Kieran Jones and Stephen Hulin.
One of the platform’s most demanding and respected certifications, Kieran and Stephen now join Kinetic IT’s growing ServiceNow CTA cohort alongside Queensland’s David McDonald and 5-year ServiceNow MVP Paul Morris, and Certified Master Architects (CMA) Daniel Spada and Richard Cook.
As part of our national Service Automation practice, Kieran and Stephen already deliver deep expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions – they now have the official certification to match their years of experience.
Living and working in Darwin (Garramilla), Kieran has specialised in Service Automation for 15 years, nine of which have been on the ServiceNow platform while with Kinetic IT. Kieran is the first and only person in the Northern Territory to achieve ServiceNow CTA certification.
In Perth (Boorloo), Stephen has 17 years of experience in IT, including 13 years specialising in ServiceNow – gained through a mix of on-site customer delivery and discretionary project services.
Kieran said the experience of pursuing ServiceNow CTA certification was challenging yet rewarding.
“The CTA program covers a broad range of topics including strategy, governance, architecture standards, security, user experience and presentation skills just to name a few. I found it really rounded out my skills and helped to elevate my perspective from a tactical to a more strategic mode of thinking.
“Even before I’d completed the course, I was already applying the skills I’d learnt to our customers and seeing the value manifest. I’m still so stoked to have had the opportunity to do this and look forward to continuing to leverage these skills and ultimately driving long-term benefits for our customers.”
Stephen agreed, saying the certification program reaffirmed his knowledge as well as opening up new ways of thinking.
“Earning ServiceNow CTA has been a milestone in my career. The process tested not just my technical knowledge, but also my ability to design solutions that scale and deliver real outcomes. I’m proud to apply these skills to help our customers succeed.”
Kinetic IT Principal, Service Integration, and CMA Dan Spada congratulated both Kieran and Stephen on the milestone.
“We’re incredibly proud of Kieran and Stephen for achieving ServiceNow CTA status. These certifications are among the toughest to attain in the ServiceNow ecosystem, and their success reflects the depth of expertise we’re building here in Australia.
“It reinforces Kinetic IT’s commitment to investing in our people so we can continue delivering world-class, sovereign capabilities for our customers.”
What is a ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect?
ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect certification recognises deep expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions.
Candidates must demonstrate advanced technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and architectural leadership, making it one of the most challenging milestones in the ServiceNow ecosystem.
Achieving CTA requires individuals to prove they can design secure, scalable, and sustainable architectures that integrate seamlessly across business functions.
The certification process involves rigorous scenario-based assessments where candidates must present and defend their solution designs to a review board of experienced architects.
It validates not only mastery of the ServiceNow platform, but also the ability to align technology to strategic business outcomes, balance stakeholder needs, and ensure long-term value from ServiceNow investments.
Growing Sovereign Service Automation Capabilities
Kieran and Stephen’s success adds to a strong track record of ServiceNow achievements within Kinetic IT.
Our national Service Automation practice is home to two ServiceNow Certified Master Architects – Daniel Spada and Richard Cook.
Both Western Australians are experts in their own right, recognised for governance and long-term strategy expertise across large and complex ServiceNow environments.
The duo share their insights at various industry events and seminars, including a recent Kinetic IT webinar about Risk-Based Vulnerability Management webinar.
This webinar, hosted by MySecurity Media’s Chris Cubbage, focused on practical advice for how critical infrastructure providers can balance technical requirements while achieving business outcomes.
As a sovereign Australian provider, Kinetic IT is among a select group of national organisations with multiple ServiceNow professionals holding advanced architecture credentials. Kinetic IT was also named 2025 ServiceNow Consulting and Implementation Partner of the Year for the Asia-Pacific region.
“Service Automation, alongside our ITIL, Service Integration and Management, Enterprise Security and Data practices, play a critical role in helping our customers deliver essential services to millions of Australians every day. Having CTAs and CMAs within our crew ensures we can provide architecture and guidance at the highest standard – backed by local, sovereign capability,” Dan said.
“The level of investment we make in our people is rare in the market. By backing formal training, mentoring and leadership development, we’re not only helping our team grow their careers but also ensuring our customers benefit from smarter, more resilient ServiceNow solutions.”
