Empowering Future Tech Leaders Through The Gordon Institute IT Scholarships

Kinetic IT is on a mission to break down barriers and champion diversity in STEM. Partnering with Victoria’s The Gordon Institute, Kinetic IT has again provided support through annual IT scholarships that are making a real difference in the lives of students facing barriers and disadvantages in their educational pursuits.

Kinetic IT provides $10,000 each year to support the The Gordon’s annual IT scholarships, a commitment by the company to support upcoming talent in the state. Kinetic IT crew Justin Apperley and Callum Goodlet presented the three scholarships on behalf of the company.

Justin, Kinetic IT’s Account Director for customer V/LINE, said the ceremony was eye-opening.

“Callum and I were excited to be chosen to represent Kinetic IT and get the opportunity to meet these students. These IT scholarships are a fantastic way for our industry to provide support for the next generation of technology leaders seeking to further their education.

“These scholarships aren’t just about financial aid. They are about opening doors, creating opportunities, and changing lives. With Kinetic IT’s support, these students can invest in the essential study resources they need to excel.”

Callum, who is Kinetic IT’s Manager, Service Experience, for Metro Trains Melbourne, congratulated the three recipients – James, Blake and Daniel – and commended The Gordon Institute’s fantastic work training Victorians.

“There was a large cross section of the community present, from students with learning challenges, disabilities, and difficult learning environments, through to returning parents who chose to upskill and try something new. The diversity in the room mirrored the broader missions of both Kinetic IT and The Gordon Institute – to provide equal opportunities for all.

“There were many highly emotional examples of how these scholarships will positively impact the recipients’ learning and lives. These scholarships are a lifeline, a chance for these students to thrive.”

It was an inspiring experience to be part of, Justin said.

“Callum and I were extremely humbled by the stories we heard from the students about challenges they face, and the determination and focus they are applying to get through; they were all very deserving. The night ended with us providing contact details, messages of encouragement, and a promise with the students to stay in touch with Kinetic IT, aiming to gain employment with us in the near future.”
